Who is Kunokhanya?
We are a private Health Sciences training academy based in Johannesburg. We are registered with Quality Council of Trades and Occupations (QCTO Number: QCTOSDP00180326-685) and accredited with the Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority (HWSETA Number: HW591PA166719). We specialize in the training of Community Health Workers.
Is Kunokhanya registered with SANC?
Kunokhanya is NOT registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC). Kunokhanya does not train on any programmes registered under SANC.

I did not pass Grade 12, do I qualify to register?
Certainly, you do, our courses accommodate people with Grade 9 and above.
What if I’m interested in studying but I do not have money?
Book your place by paying the stipulated registration fees; we will then assist you to apply for a study loan at any financial institution of your choice. Attend lessons while funding application is being processed.
What if I do not get funding?
You can then arrange for a low installment payment with college. Your guardian will be required to sign a liability statement with the college.
Please note that Kunokhanya is a pro-poor training institution. Lack of fees should not stop you from coming to apply for your programme of choice at Kunokhanya. Efforts are underway to source learner grants from reputable corporate organizations nationally and internationally.
I would like to study but I'm working?
Kunokhanya offers Saturday and Sunday (08.00 to 16.00hrs) classes to accommodate people who work during the week.
Part-time attendance
Saturdays: - Home Based Care Giver, HIV/AIDS & Nutrition, Medical Secretary, Health Promotion Officer and Community Health Work 4
Sundays: -Community Health Work 4
Do you provide uniforms?
Students pay for uniforms and stationery.
Does the college assist with jobs after training?
Kunokhanya does not give nor promise JOBS. Our core activity is to train you so that you can look for a job. However, we have established an office that is responsible for identifying jobs, where we will then refer our learners for interviews. Also, when employers contact us asking for trained care-workers to employ we will send our students to take up the employment. Most learners excel during workplace training and end up getting jobs.
Kunokhanya does not guarantee JOBS but guarantees QUALITY TRAINING and job preparation.
What is the upper age limit for enrollment?
There is no upper age limit
Learners must be adequately mobile to execute the work requirements of the course.
What is required for a foreign national to register at Kunokhanya?
- English proficiency
- Permit, Asylum, or proof that one has applied to the Department of Home Affairs to legalize their stay in the country. (Kunokhanya will issue Confirmation of Registration letters for submission to Home Affairs to those who wish to apply for study permits)
- Qualifications (Should be SAQA evaluated if you want to do level 4programmes-This can be done after registration)

Does Kunokhanya provide student accommodation?
Kunokhanya does not have student accommodation. We however do organize accommodation for all who need it. Accommodation can be secured in central Johannesburg or in the townships.
