- Protect, support, and develop vulnerable children and youth
- Provide holistic daily care interventions
- Implement developmental programmes
- Provide basic life-space counselling
- Render first aid
- Manage health and safety risks
- Execute daily routine care in child and youth care centres
- Maintain administrative records
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
- National Senior Certificate (Matric / Grade 12) or an equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
- Proficiency in the language of instruction, typically English communication skills
- Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 4
- Police clearance certificate
- Sexual offenders register certificate
Full-time: 18 months
Part-time: 24 months
Learners complete formative assessments, internal summative assessments, and the External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA). Successful learners are awarded: Occupational Certificate: Child and Youth Care Worker by QCTO.
