E-Learning Policy
E-Learning Mission
Our mission is to provide quality instruction through electronic-based accredited courses to enable students to attain their educational goals. The E-Learning department is committed to student success by supporting efforts to ensure that quality online education and support services are available to learners.
Types of Online Education
E-Learning Courses
E-Learning classes are offered with all work being completed using electronic technologies, except for certification examinations. Learners access primary content and instruction from an e-learning environment using tools including email, text/voice chat, discussion boards, web pages, and multimedia technologies. Instruction may be synchronous, asynchronous, or a combination of both.
Online Courses
Courses are offered fully online using the Course Management System – Moodle.
Distance Learning
Distance learning is carried out remotely using electronic communication and is not bound by geographical location. It provides flexibility for students with work or family commitments.
Hybrid/Blended Courses
Hybrid classes combine online learning and face-to-face interaction via Video Conferencing and/or LMS. Students must attend scheduled in-person or video sessions and log in to the e-learning environment weekly.
Getting Started with E-Learning
E-Learning uses computerized electronics for online coursework. Access is via the internet using LMS such as Moodle.
Admission and Registration
Students must be admitted to Kunokhanya Training Academy to register. The Academic Registrar handles online program registration.
Obtaining Login Details
The Registrar creates login credentials for all learners, which can be changed by the learner.
Online Course Schedules
Courses have set start and end dates (typically 8 or 16 weeks). Weekly learning activities are scheduled. The official schedule is published by the Registrar’s Office.
Beginning an Online Course
Students must access the LMS at the beginning of the semester. Moodle mirrors a regular classroom environment.
